On Friday, September 29, the Mentor of the Year of the STARTAB Entrepreneurship Programme, a leading initiative that supports young aspiring entrepreneurs in Greece, was awarded at the Networking event for the Programme’s Mentors at the offices of Corallia, of the R.C. Athena in Marousi.

The event, which was dedicated to the STARTAB’s volunteer Mentors, who pass on their knowledge to young people who are interested in starting their own business, included inspirational speeches, panel discussions and information on the value of mentoring by Ms. Maria Zarotiadou, Managing Director at Plan of Business.

During the event, Ms. Amaryllis Bellou was announced as the “Mentor of the Year”, who mentored Kallisti Tsanai and Alexandra Tiligadi to establish their very successful businesses, Mikres Svoures and 11 Modern Muses respectively. Ms. Bellou stated, in this regard: “Mentorship is the path of the systematic and essential search for the best version of oneself, the in-depth and wide-ranging exploration of horizons that, through conditions of inspiration, leads to the construction of the mentee’s vision, with the mentor acting as an orchestrator of its capabilities, in a course of mutual development. I thank the people of STARTAB from the bottom of my heart who frame and embellish these routes!”.

Dr. Jorge Sanchez, Director of STARTAB stated during the event: “We remain servants of the vision of creating the right conditions that will allow the sciences, culture, innovation and entrepreneurship to flourish (again) in Greece, our mission in supporting young people to transform their lives by developing their entrepreneurial skills and the goal of developing the best and largest Youth Entrepreneurship Program in Greece. This goal would not have been possible without the warm support of our valuable Mentors”.

The Event attended the executives of Prince’s Trust International, presenting to the Mentors the vision and results of the Foundation, which supports STARTAB. Ms. Rosemary Parkhill, International Program Manager, Europe & MENA at PTI, stated: PTI’s staff had a fantastic afternoon hearing about the commitment of Mentors and the recognition they receive as they work with young people and see their development.”
