Platon Vasatis, the creator behind his new handmade jewelry business Platon Vasatis Jewelry, on the occasion of the completion of his participation in the STARTAB Entrepreneurship Programme, shares his story and achievements, proving that with perseverance, proper guidance and continuous education, the dream can come true.
Plato started his training in the world of jewelry in 2019, aiming to create his own brand. Despite the difficulties he faced due to limited knowledge and experience, he never stopped working tirelessly to improve his skills. In 2023, with the help of the STARTAB Programme, he managed to launch his business and become the owner of a brand that expresses his passion and dedication to handmade jewelry.
His love for jewelry began with a long search for something that truly fills him. Although no one in his family and close circle had anything to do with the art of jewelry, he decided to follow his passion, despite objections and difficulty in finding information on how to start his own business. What he lacked most was the necessary confidence to take the first step and turn his passion into reality.
The STARTAB Project was a catalyst for Plato’s success. Through the support of the Programme and the guidance of his mentor, he gained the confidence to believe in himself and make his dreams come true. As he mentions: “The mentoring during mentoring was invaluable, it helped me shape my business plan and boost my self-confidence. The guidance every step of the way made all the difference.”
Plato emphasizes that the skills and knowledge he acquired through the Programme gave him the necessary tools to effectively communicate his vision and collaborate with external partners with confidence. Today, with his business in full growth, he focuses on the design and manufacture of his jewelry, aiming to create unique collections that express his own aesthetics.
“All the tools and guidance I received from the Programme, as well as the feedback after presenting my business plan, were key to unlocking my potential and starting to realize my dreams.”
Plato hopes that his business will become sustainable and develop into a recognizable brand that inspires and touches people around the world. He says: “My greatest pride is my personal development. Now, whatever I put my mind to, I do without hesitation.”
His message to young people who are thinking of participating in the STARTAB Programme is clear and encouraging: “To anyone who has an idea and the dream to start their own business, but feels lacking knowledge or confidence, the STARTAB Programme will give you the answers and tools you need. It will help you take the first, hardest step. Believe in yourself and take the leap!”
With the support of STARTAB, Plato has managed to make his dream come true and today continues to evolve as an entrepreneur, with the commitment and vision for a future full of creativity and success.
STARTAB aims at the continuous education and guidance of young people to develop their entrepreneurial skills, achieve financial independence and give them the opportunity to change their lives and start their own business on solid foundations.
