The STARTAB Entrepreneurship Programme continues with great success, surpassing the milestone of 1,200 young people who completed their training in entrepreneurship in its 6 years of contribution to enhancing entrepreneurship and supporting new businesses in Greece.
STARTAB, implemented by Corallia with the support of King’s Trust International, is in its 6th year of implementation, with the mission of creating a network where young people can gain access to know-how to develop their business, generate income and job opportunities for others.
Since its inception, the STARTAB Programme has been committed to bridging the gap between business ideas and sustainable businesses, offering participants free training, mentoring, support in setting up the business and access to a wide network of partners. According to a survey, 94% of participants stated that the Programme meets or exceeds their expectations.
Since its inception, 62 cycles of entrepreneurship seminars have been organized on topics such as business skills, marketing strategies, financial management, business plan creation. 98% of participants said they gained valuable knowledge in business skills and developed at least three skills.
STARTAB ensures that education is free, equitable and of high quality for all and promotes the Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring equal access to education for all and achieving gender equality with a participation rate of 50% women and 50% men.
Dr. Jorge-A. Sanchez-P., Director of STARTAB in Greece and co-founder of Corallia, stated: “The Programme owes its success to the support and dedication of partners, volunteers and donors. From 2018 until today, more than 1,200 participants have attended entrepreneurship seminars, and 450 participants have progressed to the mentoring stage with the help of the 100 volunteer mentors of the Programme”.
STARTAB focuses on facilitating the transition of participants from the business idea stage to the formulation of a comprehensive business plan and their full entry into the market. Karina participated in the Programme and shared her experience: “I was very pleased with all the stages of the programme. In the entrepreneurship seminars I interacted with very remarkable people with love for entrepreneurship and gained a more global picture of how the world of entrepreneurship works. My first client was a participant in the programme, who was motivating and inspiring to me.”
Participants have the opportunity to work with experienced mentors from different fields, gaining targeted guidance. Katerina, one of the participants, said: “Working with my mentor was very productive, he helped me in all phases of the establishment of the company, I have very positive feelings about the mentoring stage.”
STARTAB continues to empower the new generation of entrepreneurs, offering them the opportunity to turn their ideas into sustainable businesses, with a vision to further develop the Greek business ecosystem.
