MARIA NEFELI CHATZIIOANNIDOU

Maria-Nefeli Chatziioannidou is an entrepreneur. She graduated from Bocconi University, with a Bachelor Degree in International Economics, Finance, and Management and has a Master’s Degree in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She founded her first social enterprise “Code it Like a Girl” in 2013, a project aiming to solve the problem of gender inequality in STEM fields. Maria-Nefeli collaborates and provides consultant services on social innovation and entrepreneurship, to several organizations and start-ups in Greece. She has participated in many conferences with proposals for the refugee crisis and was selected to participate in “WOMEN INNOVATORS in SOCIAL ENTERPRISES” (WISE) Program in which she has been awarded as One of the Five Top Women Innovators of the Program. She is also the owner of an enterprise that operates in AUTH, and acts as a fresh respond to the existing Greek university cafeterias, with a vision to create a place that respects the university students and staff, by providing a modern environment and a quality break for everyone. In January 2019, Maria-Nefeli created her second social venture, an online platform called “Yperoxes Gynaikes” (Great Women), aiming to empower women by creating an online community in which women interact with each other.
